We have teamed up with Artsonia, www.artsonia.com, the world's largest online kid's art museum! We have been displaying art work for the past month and presently have 265 pieces of art on display, with over 2700 visitors to our Saint John Fisher site! The art work looks great! By the end of the year, hopefully every student will have at least one art work on display. Saint John Fisher students join thousands of students from over 100 countries whose art work is showcased on Artsonia.
An option on Artsonia is to have art work printed on usuable items such as coffee cups, t-shirts, mouse pads, tiles, aprons, etc. These make great keepsakes and maybe Christmas gifts for loved ones. If anyone orders something from Artsonia with a SJF student's work on it, they will give us back 15% of the cost. It's a easy and great way to support our art program.
Artsonia also provides several features such as fan clubs and personal guestbooks, as a way for families to encourage the creativity and imaginations of our young artists. Rewards are given to those students that have several comments. What a great way to share the great work our students are doing with family and friends in different cities. They can leave comments for the student to encourage them and promote self esteem.
I will be displaying art work strictly on artsonia from now on instead of putting it on this art blog. Artsonia gives me the ability to put many more examples of what the students are doing in art. Please go to www. artsonia. com to check out our current art projects which include self portraits by 4 yr. old preschoolers, fall leaves by 1st graders, fall reflections by 2nd graders, 3rd graders "dress" a turkey, pumpkin patch by 4th graders, scratch art by 7th graders, and paintings by 8th graders.
Art work coming up will include: paintings by kinders, printmaking by 5th graders, and pointillism by 6th graders, plus Christmas projects by all levels.
Please take a minute to see how talented our students are at artsonia.com. And check it often! Art work is added on a weekly basis.
Happy Thanksgiving!
